HI, I'M IZZY!

MY LIP FILLER EXPERIENCE

MY LIP FILLER EXPERIENCE

I first got lip filler in November 2017. Recently, I decided a needed a touch up so I went to my dermatologist's office for my second round of filler. I just want to let you guys know in advance that the pictures that I am going to include in this blog post aren't amazing or truly up to my blog post standards, but I am going to share them anyway to give you guys the real experience. It's kinda hard to look and feel cute after having your lips injected and feeling all tender.

The first time I got filler Dr. Pompa, my dermatologist/queen, suggested that I use Restylane Refyne for my first time. She said that the swelling would be minimal and it's a good go to product for the first time you do your lips. When injecting the lips, Dr. Pompa uses a cannula which is a tool used for precise application of filler. The tip of the needle is blunted so it does not hit blood vessels as it moves through the lips which ultimately reduces bruising and increases safety. Personally, I did not bruise at all and the swelling was minimal. I loved the way my lips looked, but I did feel that they could be a little more plump and juicier looking, especially my top lip.

For this round of filler, I had Restylane Silk injected into my lips. Dr. Pompa warned me that this product could cause intense swelling but that it would give me the results that I wanted. I told her I didn't mind the swelling and we went for it. Overall, I would say the pain is very minimal. She put numbing cream on my lips for 10-15 minutes before injecting them so I wouldn't feel anything. Personally, I think the worst part is the initial pinch that goes on the corners of the mouth to insert the cannula in. Other than that, actually having the product injected into your lips isn't painful. It is more of an uncomfortable feeling. I promise it sounds worse than it feels! The recovery processes isn't anything to crazy either. You should ice your lips 10 minutes on and off and make sure not to touch or mess with them. I iced my lips religiously because I wanted to reduce the amount of swelling as much as possible.

I got my lips injected on Wednesday, May 9th and I will include all the pictures I took to document my experience. I hope you guys enjoy this post! If you have any questions feel free to comment down below!!
