CALLING ALL MY FOODIES: PART 1!
If you're reading this, I appreciate your honesty about your love for food. Whenever I go back to Miami for breaks during the school year, I make it a point to visit my oldie but goodie fave restaurants, and of course try new ones. I am a foodie, yes. But, sometimes it is hard being from Miami because I am surrounded by the best restaurants in the world and it can be overwhelming at times. First world problems, but it's true.I recently went home for Christmas break and revisited my favorite food spots. My mom, sister, and I are highly addicted to sushi. We can eat it 24/7. Because we are such huge fans, we have become a tad picky (difficult) when it comes to where we eat sushi. If you are planning a trip to Miami, or live in Miami and for who knows what reason have not been to Pubbelly Sushi, run, don't walk. The first time I went to Pubbelly was about two years ago. I used to have to drive 30 minutes in Miami traffic, bracing for my life with the lunatic drivers, to be able to eat my favorite sushi ever. Not anymore!! When I got home, one of the first things my mom and sister told me was the Pubbelly opened a new location 5 minutes from our house. I had to hold back the tears. Needless to say, we went the next day and literally ordered one of everything off the menu. I was only able to snag pictures of one roll because I was so excited I forgot.
This roll is everything. It's called the Big Eyed Tuna and it is delicious. So fresh, absolutely NO fishiness, rolled to perfection. I can't say enough good things about this roll. You just need to try it (if you do go, take me with please!).
After we had our amazing sushi, we made sure to leave some room for our favorite yogurt ever. If you're from Miami, you know that the BEST yogurt/ice cream place is Whip 'n Dip. I'm going to be honest with you, when I'm in Miami I go to Whip 'n Dip approximately 3 times a week. I blame my sister. Her obsession is on another level. She follows Whip 'n Dip on twitter to stay updated on their latest flavors. If they don't update their twitter on time she WILL call and request to know the flavors of the day. Truly though, their soft serve is out of control.
A few days later, I brunched at Lulu in the Grove. This restaurant has an amazing vibe. It's a great place to go with your friends and they do have really yummy food. The only drawback to Lulu is the wait time. Make sure you get there before lunch rush hour. I ordered the avocado toast with a poached egg on top and it was seriously to die for. The avocado was creamy and fresh and delicious. Highly highly recommend.
The day before I went back to school I took my sister to our favorite breakfast spot in Miami. It is actually right across the street from Lulu and in my opinion, it's even better (shh, don't tell anyone). Greenstreet Café. The ambiance, food, location is just insane. This is the perfect place to go for Sunday Brunch. We ordered the Nutella french toast. It was the most delicious, fluffy french toast we've ever had. The Nutella was warm and gooey on the inside, I mean it couldn't have been more perfect. If you go to Greenstreet do yourself a favor and just get the Nutella french toast. I promise you won't regret it.
